Found a Feather in the Forest

We got back from the Dominican Republic late last night. What a fun trip that was! Now, I'm in the process of sorting through hundreds of photos, choosing the ones to add to this blog, Facebook, Etsy and my website. It's a fun process but it also takes a long time. In the meantime, I wanted to share some still life photos I took before leaving on our trip.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about going to the Golden Gate Park. I'm not sure if I mentioned we found a hawk feather while walking in the redwood grove. Well, we did, and we took it home with us. After bringing it home, I kept thinking about what to do with it, how to turn it into something else, how to honor the beautiful feather. I wanted to make art with it. The obvious answer is that I decided to give it its own photo shoot, and this is the final result of that shoot.

I hope you enjoy these photos. They are my first attempt at still life photography! It's always fun to try something new! For more fun photos, visit my Etsy store or go to my website.
